Photographer Takes Photos Of Icelandic Horses – The Oldest Horse Breed In The World

With a history spanning more than 12,000 years, Icelandic horses are one of the oldest and purest breeds of horses still in existence in the world. They were brought to Iceland by the Vikings in the 8th century, so they are also known as Viking horses, writes aubtu

These horses are 12-14 hands high (4 to 5 feet tall) and weigh 600-900 pounds. They might not be very big in size, but do not call them ponies! They are mighty and are the strongest breed in the world. Despite having a lively temperament and a strong character, they are very friendly, easy to handle, and love people.

A Swedish photographer named Lina Kronholm spent the last few summers going to Iceland and photographing the Icelandic horse. Scroll down to enjoy these photos of this beautiful breed!
