Thanks to this man’s lightning-fast reaction, his beloved dog seems to have no idea she was ever in danger at all.
After a two-week stint of working in a field, John Alexander Palomino Bendives couldn’t have been happier to return to his apartment in Peru. There, his four dogs eagerly awaited his return — although it seems that Mina may have been the most excited.
While John and his girlfriend chatted just outside of their apartment, their pups watched nearby from their four-story rooftop apartment. As they peeked over the edge to watch their mom and dad, Mina’s excitement got the best of her. In a moment of impatience, or from losing her balance, the tiny dog leapt and began to fall quickly toward the street.
In the blink of an eye, John noticed and rushed toward Mina with open arms, ready to catch her… and he did! As heart-stopping as this moment was for him and his girlfriend, Mina seemed unfazed.
“She was OK, unharmed,” John said. “Mina was happy and grateful, as you can see in the video. She didn’t stop wagging her tail out of happiness.”
To avoid another almost-disaster, John says they’re looking into installing a mesh barrier so their doggos can enjoy the rooftop without the risk of falling.
We’re so glad that John was able to momentarily turn into a superhero in order to save his precious Mina!
