Out In The Cold, Desperate For Help, Desperate, She Begs To Be Left In

OUT OF THE BLUE SHE JUST SHOWED UP ON THEIR PORCH, THEN PROCEED TO TAKE A GOOD LOOK AROUND.

Kurtis and Melanie have been providing community cats with food and shelter in their backyard, doing whatever they can to assist homeless cats when an elusive stray showed up for a meal.

She must have been scoping the place out because she came back later that week, however, this time she was not alone. She brought her whole family along with her for a meal, four very cute tuxedo kittens gamboled about on the couple’s porch.

Clearly impressed by what was on offer, they loved the food and their new kitty shelters. Mom seemed perfectly happy to leave the kittens in Kurtis and Melanie’s capable hands, taking a temporary break from motherhood.

In hopes of finding these kittens, new homes the couple did their best to stay close with the young family, encouraging the kittens to socialize with their new human friends.

Due to the couple’s tireless efforts, two of the kittens were adopted by neighbors, the other two were bonded and could not be separated.

THIS PAIR OF KITTENS CLEARLY WANTED TO STAY.

This pair loved where they were, it made it clear they wanted to stay. As soon as Kurtis or Melanie opened their door they would walk right in seeking attention.

Having older cats at home that require their full attention, the couple is not able to adopt more but they are happy to help until the right family comes along.

Kurtis reached out to Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a local rescue group, and asked if they could help get them into a loving home, together.

“The two kittens are so nice and sweet. They are very lucky and have been well taken care of,” said Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal.

They named the kittens Kurt and Mel after their rescuers.

The couple is trying to catch the feral cat mom to get her spayed while continuing to help community cats in their neighborhood.

The brother and sister duo just had their first vet visit. “They are the sweetest and most cuddly kittens you will find. It would be best if they could be adopted together…as they are so close,” Kurtis said
