Countless deserving dogs await their forever family at shelters, rescues and foster homes all across the planet . Sadly, some never find an area to call home. A dog like this is likely to spend his life at the Villalobos rescue center where Tia Torres and her amazing family travelled. Source: Animal Planet
Summer, a senior dog at Villalobos, has been with the Torres family longer than the other dog at their facility. Tia just about gave up hope that Summer would have ever her happily ever after. The Torres family did their best to accommodate the sweet pooch and have given her the love and a spotlight she deserves.
Tia says, “She and my kids basically grew up together.” That’s how long Summer has been at Villalobos. Since 8 weeks old, Summer has lived at the rescue center. She is older now. It breaks Tia’s heart that nobody ever stepped up to need the sweet girl in. “Through no fault of her own, she’s still here. She got overlooked,” Tia says in the video below. At now , Summer’s age affects her physically. She has bad arthritis, so bad that her legs are awkwardly bent. She moves more slowly. But mentally, she may be a happy, grateful dog.
There are many canine residents at the rescue center because the Torres family doesn’t have the guts to show any dog away. As adopters are available trying to find the right companion, Tia, and her family try to hear what they’re trying to find. The family also learns about their homes, and match them up appropriately. They’re usually given several dogs to settle on from. The families then meet the ‘candidates’ and pick the one that most accurately fits them. Although it has been the choice of adopters many times, summer has never been chosen. Then, miraculously, an application came in specifically for Summer. Eileen, the potential adopter, saw Summer on the Villalobos senior page, and knew instantly that Summer belonged together with her. The Torres family couldn’t wait Eileen to return and meet the deserving dog. In the middle, Xia Xia slowly walked into the room, clearly revealing her age. But this doesn’t deter Eileen. She gets onto the ground, at Summer’s level, to say hi.
Axel worked carefully to empty the first room, but as soon as he reached the second, a cowardly terrorist opened fire. The Army claims that Axel was alive and moving for 15 seconds after being shot at before he collapsed.
After the battle ended, army personnel went and got the dog’s body. Axel, it has been reported, was severely injured, with many wounds and a broken femur.
