Dying Mom Receives An Unexpected ‘Deer Gift’ Days Before She Died

This dying mom loved anything related to deer, especially, the most famous deer in the world, “Bambi.” That was why it truly made her day when she received this unexpected “deer gift” days before she passed on.

This unforgettable moment was shared on Facebook by Lisa McDonald, her daughter. She wrote, “I wanted to share this story I am currently along with my sister palliative caring for my mum who is not expected to make it through the night.”

“My mum has been a lover of deer her whole life. She has Bambi statues everywhere. She is wearing a Bambi T-shirt in her bed and will be cremated in one too. My sister and I and the rest of the family that are supporting us are also wearing Bambi T-shirts we are calling them our nursing uniforms.”

Lisa tried her best to find a real-life “Bambi” to make her mom happy on her last, few days. Thankfully, she was able to contact a mobile farm. She had to make the arrangements swiftly, for her mom’s health was deteriorating fast.

“I found a place on Facebook that had a mobile farm for kids birthdays etc. and sent them a message. They had a fawn and were willing to bring her to meet my mum tomorrow. However, unfortunately, mum deteriorated quickly today,” she recalled. The owners of the farm went above and beyond what was expected of them. They knew that it was a race against time.

“Simone and Chris didn’t hesitate, they drove 2 1/2 hours to bring Bambi to meet mum. Out of pure love and kindness. I cannot thank them enough for what they have done for my mum and my family,” the loving daughter said.

t was a sight to behold when Lisa’s mom saw the fawn. She was surprised when she saw it from afar. When it was carried toward her, she raised her frail arm and touched its neck, obviously smitten by its charm. It was just a brief encounter, but for sure, it meant the world to this elderly, dying mother.

Sadly, she passed on a few days back at 2:45 AM. She died four days after meeting her beloved “deer gift.”

Kudos to Lisa for loving and taking care of her mom. She made her last, few days special through her thoughtful gesture. For sure, this stemmed from the love and care she also received from her mother growing up.

“Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”
