A dog fighting ring used Bubby the Pit Bull as a bait dog when he was a puppy. By the time he was rescued, he was in a critical physical and mental state. Ilovemydogsomuch says that his starved body was pierced and diseased all everywhere.
In fact, he was entirely paralyzed. He was finally placed on the list to be put down as a result of these issues. Bubby was unexpectedly rescued from euthanasia, but his struggles had just just begun. For the next two months, he was imprisoned in a garage and treated as a useless piece of rubbish.
Finally, a woman got aware of his situation and immediately adopted him. Bubby was disappointed and bewildered as he sat in his savior’s car, unknowing that his life was about to alter forever.
Bubby was affected the first time he felt his new mother’s love and concern. She let him work through his shyness and concerns at his own pace. Over the months, he amazed everyone by making an astounding physical and mental recovery. He became emotionally attached to the woman who saved him, resulting in acute separation anxiety (it is quite understandable considering what he has been through).
When Bubby’s owner was not around, she decided to crate train him in order to provide him with security and stability. Throughout his crate training, Bubby discovered a deeper feeling of comfort in blankets! He’d snort and wag his tail joyfully every morning when he walked out of his kennel with his blanket and strutted around the house.
Bubby’s blanket provided him the reassurance that everything was OK. His dreams and traumas lessened with time, but his treasured “blankie habit” persisted. He developed a similar bond to his pillows, toys, and anything else that felt like home over time!
When Bubby’s family got him another rescue Pit Bull, Simon, to keep him company, he got the nicest present ever. Bubby’s blanket obsession was supposed to have ended by now, but it never did. It was just a matter of time until Simon mimicked his brother’s blanket love since he idolized and looked up to Bubby! Aww! Pit bull puppies are adorable little sweethearts.
