The average dog’s life span is between 10 and 13 years, but this po.or dog named Solo has been on the streets of Los Angeles for nearly a decade with no home!
Solo was de.af, thin, and old, too ti.r.ed and we.ak to walk, and he collapsed on a woman’s porch. When the woman saw him, she gave him the name Solovino “Spanish for he came alone”.
She contacted Rocket Dog Rescue for assistance and transported him to San Francisco, where he was placed with a foster family. However, the fosters may believe that Solo is d.e.af and old as a burden so they adopted him and then a.ban.doned him, again and again.
Carol Messina came across a photo of Solo online one day and knew she had to save him. She is aware of how up.set and sa.d Solo has been through, and she wishes to be with this po.or dog.
Messina quickly realized that Solo had a hearing problem he was deaf – and that whenever someone stroked him, he didn’t feel comfortable because he couldn’t hear them coming. Solo also has a tooth problem that causes him pa.in.
Thankfully, Messina assisted him with su.rg.ery to repair his teeth. She also expressed her love for the dog, and the best part was that Solo gradually became trusting of her. He was happy again and appeared to be younger!
Love has incredible emotional power. Thank you, Messina, for letting Solo know he deserves to be loved!
